When we think of the high-performance sports category, we often think of fast cuts, sweat, close ups… In sum: a visual language of performance and strength. For Wilson's Red Series, a new family of rackets built for tour-ready power and spin, we explored a way to convey that force through a sublime and poetic lens. We were asked to create a campaign about pushing personal limits, so we took the product's most distinctive feature, red, and used it as the central thread of the cinematic piece.

We wanted to portray the intensity of something relentless, raw and elite by finding the ferocity in the stillness of a single gesture: the serve. The entire piece unfolds as a balletic choreography in slow motion, featuring the sport's top athletes as they channel all the power of the racket into one single moment.

We particularly enjoyed stopping time on the quiet of a concentrated mind, that instant when precision lives in the body, the adrenaline that carries focus to its limit. The score had to carry that same feeling: something almost angelic to enhance the overall feeling of the piece.

The film builds toward a total solar eclipse. Each glimpse pulls the rhythm tighter until the climax brings everything together: the artifact, the ice catching light, the eclipse appearing in the lenses the characters wear. The result feels like something found, as if it had been there long before us.
